Founders Centennial IPA
Well, I’m holding off on the cough syrup till I go to bed. Mainly, so I can drink this amazing ale. The Founders Centennial IPA is a bold IPA amazingly balanced and well, just all around good stuff in a bottle.
Tonight Im eating a Trader Joe’s Steak Burrito and thought an IPA would be a swell addition, I was right!
The Centennial IPA pours a beautiful amber colour with a small head. It looks like brandy in my snifter glass. I inhale nice and big and wow, my sinuses are full of floral aromas and bursts of orange. This reminds me that I can see green grass outside and spring must be here! The floral aroma is not too sweet, more like a field of wildflowers not a bed of roses.
One sip and Im hooked, I could drink this all night. It is a BIG IPA but not extreme. The flavour has hints of grass and lemon but nothing is too strong here. This is the hop lovers session beer. Founder’s continues to impress me.
Pairing an IPA and Mexican food is an easy one. As I think I have said before, you can never go wrong with IPA’s and Mexican food, seriously, impress your friends. Tell them, “and tonight I’ve paired our tamale’s with this fine balanced craft brewed IPA from Holland Michigan (etc…)” You are sure to impress!
